The Experimentalist Podcast: Session 053 by Brandon Mitchell

Procrastination: What causes a person to wait instead of moving forward into action? Is it fear? Is it lack of motivation? Is it a choice or an uncontrollable force keeping some random people from accomplishing their goals? Maybe it's something that builds strength and patience. Or maybe it's just practice for what happens much later in life.

Session 050! End of Season 2 by Brandon Mitchell

Here is the final episode for a while. Hopefully, it will not be a long while. I'm considering this to be the end of Season 2. Session 023 was for all intense and purposes the end of Season 1. I tried to make this the longest episode ever, but I believe 023 beat this one.

Anyway, for a quick synopsis of the audio: It starts off with some open improvisation. Following that there are a string of songs. Some of them are fairly new to the repertoire. Then, around minute 36, it's time to swing for the fences. There's a super long improv portion where I spend several stretches playing with percussion loops in weird time signatures. And that's it!

It's been fun practicing and playing for this podcast. I will update Twitter and Facebook if I'm going to do anything else in the future so feel free to check those out. Hope you enjoy these Experiments. Peace!

Improv (12 min) > All The Rowboats (3 min), I'm Straight (5 min), Everbody Loves Everybody (5 min), Back on the Train (6 min), I Want Something (2 min), Delay Rock/Drum Improv (27 min)

The Experimentalist Podcast Session 049 by Brandon Mitchell

The 2nd to last episode! Once again it's straight up live jamming all the way through. No 'extremely wack dialogue' interrupting the flow. This lengthy episode features an opening bit of improvisation before leading into the Ogle B original "Connect". That is followed by the Frank Ocean hit "Forrest Gump". After "FG" there is a long guitar solo improv that breaks down into a version of the tentative Track 10 from the upcoming Ogle B Straight instrumental album "The Experimentalist 2". The tune "Exactly the Way" follows that and closes out the episode. Hope you enjoy some of these things.

Session 049 Improv (7 min) > Connect (4 min) > Forrest Gump (2 min), Big Long Improv (16 min) > Experimentalist 2 Track 10 (8 min) > Exactly the Way (11 min)

The Experimentalist Podcast Session 048 by Brandon Mitchell

Continuing the string of live sessions. . .this one is a series of songs and a few loop jam improvs. To start things off you'll hear an Ogle B original "Once This Month". That works it's way into a short version of the Grab This One Band instrumental jam "He Discovers Life". The Bruce Hornsby tune "Hooray for Tom" starts up but has a critical malfunction midway through. Out of that comes a "Free" jam improv. To celebrate the upcoming Wood Brothers concert on June 26 at Brown's Island, Ogle B fits in a first ever attempted "The Muse" then finishes off with some goofing around by way of "King Tut".
Once This Month (7 min) > He Discovers Life (2 min), Hooray for Tom (2 min) > Free Improv (7 min), The Muse (4 min), King Tut (3 min)
